MEET JOSH | DECEMBER WERUNMPLSER
“WeRunMPLSer of the Month” is a series we write to introduce the faces that make WeRunMPLS so special. We say this a lot – our core is community; it was the motivation behind starting WeRunMPLS, is the foundation for every time we meet and is what guides all our decisions. Hope you enjoy!
This month we’re featuring Josh! Josh started running with us late Spring 2016 and quickly became a regular in the group. He’s witty and has impeccable timing with his jokes, making all of us laugh on the regular. We’re so happy to have him in our group and we’d love for you to meet him too. Read on!
Tell us your name + how you found out about WeRunMPLS.
My name is Josh McCormick. I found out about WeRunMPLS through Kaitlyn Cox. We were friends on Facebook and I saw her event for the two year anniversary at Bauhaus Brewery. I thought it sounded like a fun thing to go to, and I’ve been hooked ever since.
Where is your favorite place to run?
My favorite place to run is at the Coon Rapids Dam. On the west side of the river, there are 2.5 miles of unpaved trails. Even though it is in the suburbs, I rarely come across other runners and it feels like I’m just going for a run in the woods.
What’s been your favorite night of WeRunMPLS (so far!)?
My favorite night of WeRunMPLS was when Tim had us over to his apartment for dinner and to hang out. Later on in the night, we sat around on the couches and shared unique facts about ourselves. It was a great way to get to know all the people in the group and we had a lot of fun.
Tell us your top 5 interests.
- Watching the Minnesota Vikings
- Taking my dog Gus for walks and bringing him to the dog park
- Playing with all my nieces and nephews (I’ve got nine of them!)
What’s your favorite thing about WeRunMPLS?
My favorite thing about WeRunMPLS is the community. It can be easy to lose motivation and get bored running on my own, but having a group gives me something to look forward to.
